LUIS DUPUY DE LÔME CHÁVARRI (Madrid, 1960) is VP, General Manager of American Express Global Business Travel Spain SLU. Also heads GBT in Italy, Greece and the Middle East.

In this role, Luis is responsible for leading an organization of over 1.000 employees including Business Travel sales and client teams, a MICE team of 200+ people that is an industry leader, and a large Traveler Care operation with BTCs, implants, IT development, and EMEA Hub operations.

Luis is also General Manager of HRG Italy and ARC subsidiary, and organization of 140 employees, part of the GBT group in Italy, and leads the GBT business in Greece and the Middle East.

Previously, Luis served as Head of Merchant Services Sales for American Express in Spain, implementing a new bank-based merchant sales and servicing channel that has contributed to multiply the number of merchants that accept the Amex card in Spain.

From 2000-2009, Luis held the position of Vice President, Consumer Card in American Express in Spain. In this role he contributed to the transformation of the value proposition of the Consumer Card product in the market, reaching alliances with banks and airlines, incorporating Iberia into the Membership Rewards Program, and participating in the launch of the American Express Centurion card, while improving distribution with a comprehensive channel mix.

Outside American Express, Luis has been General Manager of Roan, a well-known Spanish Real Estate company. He started his career in Finance in companies such as Price Waterhouse, Digital Equipment Corporation and The Swatch Group.

Externally, Luis is Vice President of GEBTA association. He holds a master’s degree in Business from Instituto de Empresa, attended Columbia Business School’s Senior Executive Program, and earned a BA in Business from ICADE university in Madrid.
